In the lower right corner Queen Charlotte finds a diamond, an allusion to the supposed bribery of the Queen by Warren Hastings. The figure of 'malice' who cuts his throat with a razor is Edward Thurlow, 1st Baron Thurlow, who was violently opposed to the appointment of Richard Pepper Arden, 1st Baron of Alvanley, as Master of the Rolls. The Prince of Wales kneels at the feet of the Duke of Orleans (a client of Fores) who flourishes a whip over him. George Hanger, 4th Baron Coleraine, has a pistol in his mouth and piece of paper 'debts of honour'. Date: 1788
