Description en anglais
The Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia is still remote, isolated and one of the last regions on earth with distinctly different from other parts of the country. It is one of the last regions on earth with tribal people - Hamer, Mursi, Suri, Dassanech Kara and Bodi with strong intact tribal cultures. Tribal people as beautiful, exotic and as untouched by time as the land itself. However change is coming very rapidly to the Omo Valley. Sacred traditions and rituals are threatened as the tribes are forced from their land, their home for thousands of years to accommodate the massive agricultural and civic engineering projects of national and multinational companies. Wth the damming of the Omorriver in order to create the largest irrigated area in Africa, the lifeblood of these tribes has been cut off.
