Another Place BW Crosby Beach. Photographed on 12 April 2026. In the 2026 discussion of seaside, coastal access, erosion, water quality and climate resilience continue to be important issues around Britain; Long-distance walking routes increase visitor use while local authorities continue to manage safety and environmental pressures. Another Place is Antony Gormley's installation of one hundred cast-iron figures spread along Crosby Beach and looking out across Liverpool Bay. The work changes with the tide, weather and shifting light, so photographs from different dates also document the coastal conditions surrounding the sculptures. Crosby sits on the Sefton coast north of Liverpool, where broad tidal sands and views across Liverpool Bay shape the landscape. The wider view around Another Place BW Crosby Beach establishes the geography of Crosby, showing how water, open space, weather, buildings or transport infrastructure shape the location. Another Place BW Crosby Beach is part of the landscape of Crosby, with season and surrounding land or water contributing to the sense of place recorded on the day.
