. A printed notice displayed in a Warrington office window instructs couriers not to leave deliveries outside. The large red words DO NOT draw attention to the message, with smaller black lettering specifying the rule for parcels and goods. The sign reflects a routine concern for business premises about misplaced, unattended or weather-damaged packages and the need for clear courier instructions. It can accompany reporting on growth in parcel deliveries, last-mile logistics and safe handover practices without implying that any theft or delivery failure has occurred here. The rise of online shopping, outsourced fulfilment and app-based courier work has increased the number of packages arriving at small workplaces as well as private homes. Clear instructions about leaving parcels are important where doorsteps or public pavements provide no secure drop-off point. A delivery left in an exposed place can be lost, stolen, damaged by rain or collected by somebody other than the intended recipient. Businesses may also need to balance deliveries with restricted opening hours, reception staffing and insurance requirements. In 2026 parcel security remains a practical issue as retailers and couriers promote proof-of-delivery images, tracking notifications, collection lockers and alternative delivery instructions. Such notices illustrate the gap between a courier's completion of a delivery and the recipient actually receiving the goods. The typography and emphasis of the warning convey a local operational rule, not evidence that a particular courier ignored it. The notice is especially relevant to reporting on last-mile logistics, ecommerce fulfilment, parcel theft and the everyday administrative pressures facing business premises. The sign specifically prohibits one delivery method rather than all deliveries, suggesting the recipient expects packages to be handed over or dealt with through another agreed process.
