Two harvest mice hanging on. Dorset, UK: ADORABLE PICTURES show the UK?s smallest rodents playfully balancing on delicate flower stems. In one photo a trio of harvest mice can be seen nestled among the flowers, looking like a charming mouse bouquet. Harvest mice weigh less than a two-pence coin which is somewhere between six and eight grams, and have a lifespan of 18 months. These images were captured by professional photographer Dean Mason (56) in Wimborne, Dorset, using a Nikon D5 camera. ?Harvest mice are naturally inquisitive and love to climb upon stems and plants, ? said Dean. ?Here they are enjoying some time on a dog rose covered with Robin?s pincushion. ?I love all aspects of wildlife photography, but some images make you smile more than others. ?It?s always a pleasure being close and personal with any animal, but harvest mice are so endearing that they really do make you smile from ear to ear. ?Capturing any decent images of harvest mice can be quite taxing at times because they move extremely quickly, but the rewards when you do are well worth the effort.? mediadrumimages/DeanMason
