The Uni Dufour building houses auditoriums, seminar and course rooms, a cafeteria, the Rectorate and the administrative services of UNIGE. Inspired by Le Corbusier's modular constructions, the building was the subject of a competition in 1965, won by the architects Francesco, Paux and Vicari. In 1969 , Le Grand Conseil voted a loan for the construction of the Uni II building (which would become Uni Dufour). According to the explanatory memorandum, this building was to accommodate: The services of the Rectorate and the central administration, The Institute of Educational Sciences, The psychology laboratory of the Faculty of Sciences, Classrooms, Two auditoriums of 600 and 300 seats
