Edward Gawne from Britain and his Chinese fiancee Liao Minxin asked sculpting master Yu Youhong to renovate an old house in Sixi Village, Wuyuan county, east China's Jiangxi Province, on Sunday (4 September 2016). Gawne started working in Shanghai in 2011 and fell in love with Liao, who is from Nanchang City in Jiangxi. When they traveled to Wuyuan in 2015, they became interested in the local culture and architecture, so they decided to buy a damaged house from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), known as Zhengjingtang. They plan to host their wedding there when renovations finish on the house, at a cost of about 7 million yuan ($1.05 million), in spring of 2017.
