Budapest Cathedral. Photographed on 1 May 2023. Budapest's monumental churches and basilicas form an important part of the Hungarian capital's skyline and civic identity. A dated exterior view records architectural detail and the surrounding urban setting without assuming a specific building identification beyond the caption supplied. Budapest Cathedral adds to the architectural and local-history record of Budapest, where materials, inscriptions and surrounding buildings help explain the site's relationship with its neighbourhood. Seen in its Budapest setting, Budapest Cathedral connects historic fabric with the contemporary streetscape and can be compared with later restoration, alteration or changes of use.
