Thailand's most beautiful restroom painted in gold, both the exterior and interior of the women’s and men’s cubicles. Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple to westerners, is a Buddhist temple located at Ban Tha Klang, a small town near Chiang Rai, a city in the Mueang District of Chiang Rai province, northern Thailand. The White Temple with its richly carved architectural structure, much of it covered with hand-carved spikes and shards, is painted in white, symbolizes the purity of the Buddha. There are a mixture of small and large unusual sculptures within the complex. The temple was designed by well-known present day Thai artist Ajarn Chalemchai Kositpipat who is also a talented sculpturer and architect. The initial project of the White Temple commenced in 1997, and the year it was first opened to the public. It continued to expand until an earthquake hit this part of northern Thailand in 2014, causing conceivable structural damage to the White Temple. It was at this point, Chalemchai Kositpipat decided to continue on with the project rather than give up. It has become one of Chiang Ria’s most popular tourist attractions.
