The castle of the princes of Biscari is certainly the most important monumental building of the small village of Ragusa Acate. Its construction was finished in two years in 1494 following the construction request of a castle with scarp of defense and the foundation of a real village by William Castle Raimonda. Traditionally it indicates how the population of the village was due to the abandonment of the old site called Odogrillo already Islamic foundation in the vicinity of the river itself. The structures of order four remain the circular tower equipped with a thick bead and part of the north, where was placed the old entrance, as in the following centuries the structure has undergone many changes surely also due to the severe damage suffered in the 1693 earthquake . the references to the most eighteenth-century architecture, while respecting the previous structural volumes, are more than evident testimony of these restorations, in particular is definitely reconstructed in full, the entire east wing and part of the south wing.
