Museo Memoria de Andalucía y Centro Cultural CajaGranada; Museum of Andalusian Memory by Alberto Campo Baeza (2009). Detail of the main entrance to the center. The museum and cultural center are sponsored by the Caja Granada, CajaGranada, savings bank. Their logo is on the massive sliding door. The main building of the Caja is visible through the opening, just behind the low part of the center, also called the stage or Podium Building. For scale there is someone leaning to the side in the shadows of the gate. The form is a deliberate reference to a city gate: this facade faces the busy ring road around Granada. The entrance also gives access to the rooftop restaurant of famous chef Alvaro Arriaga, that sits right above, but is not visible here. This part of the building with the gate, the restaurant and offices, is known as Screen Building. (www.memoriadeandalucia.com ; www.restaurantearriaga.com)
