Early morning at the Loch Ness, one of the most famous lakes in the Scottish Highlands in Scotland. This is a wonderful building, that was constructed in 1880 as a Benedictine abbey, called the Fort Augustus Abbey. However, in the 1990's, the school that was run as part of the abbey had to be closed and that meant that there was now a shortage of funds. There were a number of measures that were tried, but eventually the abbey was closed and the monks left. Finally, the abbey was converted into self-catering apartments for tourists, now being called the The Highland Club. These self-catering apartments are also called the Aonach Mor apartments, and present a great experience for tourists with large private gardens and at the shore of the lake. At the left side of the lake, you can see a person sitting on the steps and reading a book, and further in the background, there are the graves that were part of the graveyard for the monks in the abbey.
