Informations supplémentaires

Vanishing Point is a public art memorial to the many US troops of the 4th Infantry Division based in Torbay during World War 2 who suddenly vanished in June 1944 as part of the D-Day landings. A row of lights embedded into the wooden decking are made up of dots and dashes that spell out the message Vanishing Point in Morse code. The lights lead to the large metal ring archway set into the decking, which represents an imaginary mooring ring through which the troops disappeared out to sea.
