The first auction of Yubari King, a kind of cantaloupe cultivar farmed in greenhouses in Yubari City, is held at the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market in Sapporo City, Hokkaido Prefecture, northern Japan, on May 22, 2025. This year, they were sold for 1 million Japanese yen (about US$ 6,900) for two melons, 2 million yen cheaper than last year.
