The Japanese women's ice hockey players are all smiles after finishing the final round of the Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo women's ice hockey final qualifying round with all three wins at the Napiea Ice Arena in Tomakomai, Hokkaido on February 9, 2025. The Japanese national team, "Smile Japan" (ranked 7th in the world), defeated China (ranked 12th) 4-1 in the third match. Japan defeated Poland in the second match to secure their place at Milano Cortina 2026. The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy from February 6th to 22nd, 2026.
