Named for Lt. Benjamin Ralph Kimlau who served as a bomber pilot in WWII, the memorial arch was designed by Poy Gum Lee, and dedicated in 1962 by American Legion, Lt. B.R. Kimlau Chinese Memorial Post 1291. The arch reads, 華裔軍人忠烈 "IN MEMORY OF THE AMERICANS OF CHINESE ANCESTRY WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN DEFENSE OF FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY"
