Façade of the church San Marcello al Corso in via del Corso, in Rome. One of the most ancient surviving churches (the "titulus Marcelli" is known to have existed here at the end of the 4th century) was reconstructed several times. The façade in travertine was designed by Carlo Fontana (1682 - 86). The tondo in stucco work held by two angels showing "Saint Filippo Benizi renunciating to the tiara" is by Ercole Antonio Raggi. The coat of arms belongs to monsignor Carlo Antonio Boncompagni Cataldi, who financed the last reconstruction of the church.
