Svitlana Rood originally from the Donetsk region of Ukraine is hugged as she breaks down following her speech to the crowd. Around the world the shock of war in Ukraine is turning to anger and protest. Demonstration for peace are happening around the world not least in Russia. Russian citizens have been protesting in major cities from Moscow to Novosibirsk in Siberia. In the cities of Europe too, people are taking to the streets, including in the shires of Britain. Around 300 people gathered outside the Mariner’s Chapel at Gloucester Docks at 12 noon on Saturday to show their support for Ukraine. Many holding placards with messages for Putin and others saying ‘I stand with Ukraine’ or simply holding the printouts of the Ukrainian flag. Members from the Ukraine Association of Great Britain Gloucester Branch who organised the event were among those protesting and thinking of loved ones back home. The crowd was addressed by Gloucester MP Richard Graham among others. Pictures By Mikal Ludlow Photography 26-2-22 Tel; 07855177205
