With only 241 student rooms, Broadcasting Tower is more exclusive and gives you the choice of an en-suite room in one of the 5-bedroom student flats which include a kitchen and lounge or one of the 22 student studio apartments - perfect if you prefer your own personal space or have a heavy work load. There is a laundry on-site and all student apartments come with fitted kitchens, cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. Each lounge is furnished with sofas, coffee table and flat screen TV. We even supply the vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board, kettle and toaster, so all you need to bring are your own personal touches, towels, bedding and kitchen utensils. We even give you free contents insurance! Broadcasting Tower is a new development in Broadcasting Place in Woodhouse Lane. Adjacent to other university buildings, it forms part of Leeds Metropolitan University, housing its Faculty of Arts, Environment and Technology, as well as some student flats, and is close to the main campus of The University of Leeds and other academic institutions.[1] Designed by Stirling Prize-winning architects Feilden Clegg Bradley, the Tower is distinctive, with comfortable and contemporary interiors and stylish decor. It is clad in COR-TEN weathering steel, which has given it the rust-like appearance it is known for.[1] The owners, Downing, are a British-based property investment and development business specialising in urban environments. They are headquartered in Liverpool and have been providing student accommodation in the UK for over 20 years. In June 2010, Broadcasting Place was the recipient of the 2010 Best Tall Building in the World award by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.[2]
