On the reverse side the leaf is painted with flowers. Top: made of ocher-colored prepared paper, which serves as a foundation for the gold and black paint. Central cartouche containing the moment when the Romans chess the young women of the Sabines and the other neighboring tribes during the big party in honor of Neptune. In the background are v.l.n.r. recognize the columns of the S. Maria sopra Minerva, the Pantheon and the pyramid of Caius Cestius. Above the columns of S. Maria spora Minerva the letters 'SPQR' are clearly visible, the abbreviation for 'senatus populusque Romanus' (Senate and people of Rome). The central cartouche is surrounded by a symmetrical structure of golden accanthus leaves and volutes. In the middle above the cartouche a classic mask and on both sides a putto, all in black watercolor. The putti each hold a golden jug in their hand and are both dressed in a golden loincloth. The reverse side of the leaf has an ocher-colored background on which tulips, roses and other flowers are displayed in black and gold. Frame: closed, with 16 legs. Turtle on which small ornaments are painted in gold and silver. Possibly this painting was intended as an imitation of the silver-inlaid inlaid turtle frames that came into fashion at the end of the 17th century. The outer legs are decorated with three geometric ornaments of silver filigree that are attached to the legs with small rivets.
